A Dream Realized at Corner Coffee
Today marks a monumental occasion for our local community and for me personally — the grand opening of Corner Coffee downtown. As I sit here, merely two hours before we open our doors for the first time, I find myself engulfed in a whirlwind of emotions: shock, awe, excitement, terror, and a bit of confusion. It’s a rare moment for me to feel so emotionally charged, but today is no ordinary day.
Looking back on the journey, I’m still bewildered by how we made it here. This entire venture seemed beyond our abilities, more substantial than anything we could handle. Yet, despite these fears, here we are, ready to welcome the community into a space that was once just a far-fetched dream. This isn’t just about opening another coffee shop — it’s about creating a space where the community can gather, share stories, and create memories.
I often joke that someone should step in and act like the adult in the room, telling us why we can’t do what we’re doing. Opening not just one, but five coffee shops? It sounds like a script from a feel-good movie, yet it’s our reality. And none of this has been effortless. The doors have opened for us to work, truly work, not just coast through on miracles.
