I hope everyone is doing well and making some Better Choices in their journey toward health and well-being. Today, let’s unpack a theme that’s been hanging around my mind like the aroma of freshly brewed coffee: “I don’t know what’s next, but I want to be the best version of myself.” Sounds like something many of us can relate to, am I right?

The Weight of Missed Goals

So here’s the scoop. This past Sunday, my health routine took an unexpected turn. I had been on this incredible streak of hitting the gym every single day since October 1st. That’s right, lifting heavy stuff, breaking a sweat — the whole nine yards. But then I found myself in Fairmont, MN, competing in a large team disc golf tournament (spoiler alert: we made it to the finals and snagged second place).

Because we were doing so well, we had to stick around for the finals. The catch? It meant I couldn’t make it to the gym. The closest Planet Fitness was an hour away, and according to my GPS, I’d get there seven minutes after they closed their doors. Every other gym was a no-go as well. Talk about being between a rock and a hard place — or in this case, between a disc and a basket.
